Y/Project Fall Winter 2023-24, Freedom And Art Collision
Mar 9, 2023
Y/Project, under the leadership of Glenn Martens, a new generation of creative director, Martens quickly became popular after launching the women's clothing line in 2014, harvesting praise from the critics and the dual success of business. Glenn himself was also shortlisted for LVMH Prize in 2016 and won the ANDAM Fashion Award in 2017.
Glenn's interpretation of fashion is not limited to traditional ways. The use of elements is very casual and bold, and he is very good at mix and match. Perhaps this trend of interpretation has been welcomed by many Z Generations.
The Fall Winter 2023 Collection was presented in the Institut Français de La Mode on March 7th 2023. With the soft female chanting opera background music ("Rinaldo", George Frideric Handel's Lascia ch’io pianga. ) The models came slowly with the designer's work. The entire series 54 looks made people feel a comfortable vibe of the sea.
In the design, most of the denim and knitted fabrics are used, combined with waves and tidal streamlined tailoring to express the most primitive desires in their hearts-freedom.
In addition, Fall Winter 2023 Collection also uses the collision between denim and silk and woolen fabrics, which once again shows Glenn's control of the fabric. The crushed denim fabric decoration grows like corals in a free soil. Y/Project's favorite multi -button pants are not absent this time.
Most of Y/Project's shoes and boots this time uses wave-shaped folds and entanglement.
Glenn once said::“It’s not fulfilling the basic needs of dressing. None of these things you really need to be warm and survive. It’s really about decoration. It’s an aesthetic statement.”
I think I saw this well in his collection.
